Mike & Luke are PADI Divemasters!
Congratulations to Luke & Mike for completing their PADI Divemaster certification with Roatan Divers!
Luke hails from Canada and after hearing many a positive word about our special island, here he was ready to do some warm water diving. Mike migrated here from Germany and started his Divemaster with another shop that wasn't the right place for him so he transferred over to us. We were thrilled to have him. Both of these gentlemen were eager students ready to soak up all the diving knowledge that came their way.

When Luke arrived he was a PADI Advanced Open Water, so doing his "Better Buddy" which consists of the PADI Rescue and EFR course was his first step. From there these two began assisting on courses, joining in on the daily setup of the boats, and lending a hand when taking out certified divers. Learning to anticipate the needs of the situation is something both Mike and Luke took to quickly. With great instincts, they were always able to contribute and enhance the experience for the guest for the better.
Mike was able to put his bilingual skills to use, assisting courses in English and German. We're one of the only dive centers in West End that has a full-time staff member who is able to easily teach in German. We admire Mike for his courage in making the decision to change dive centers during his DMT course when he realized the center he initially chose, was not the right place for him. It's important to choose your dive center carefully to make sure it's the right fit for both sides. It was our pleasure to have Mike finish his course with us. We were thrilled when we heard Mike's interest in continuing his PADI Pro career by pursuing his Open Water Instructor certification.
To celebrate their momentous achievement, we all went out for a sunset cruise on our boat, Saga. It's a great opportunity for all the staff, which all share moments of mentoring of our Divemasters, get the chance to recognize the Divemasters journey. On the boat, we had several of our current DMT's who got a glimpse of what waits for them at the end of their training.
