Silvia, Hanna, & Danny are PADI Divemasters!
Congratulations to Hanna, Silvia, and Danny for completing their PADI Divemaster certification with Roatan Divers!
Hanna hails from Sweden, Silvia resides in Germany, and Danny lives in Texas. Silvia and Hanna arrived in Roatan within days of one another and knew they were ready to start the Divemaster training. Danny, who is a long time veteran of Roatan Divers, arrived just a week later. Together this international trio embarked on their journey to become PADI Divemasters. Three DMT's is the maximum number we take at any one time, but the timing coincided well that all of these candidates could learn, practice and grow their underwater skills as a team.

Hanna was a natural in the water from the start and quickly grasped the concepts behind being an effective Divemaster. Silvia loved the opportunity to speak in German with our guests whenever possible, but she was eager and dedicated. We truly enjoyed watching her confidence grow. Danny was someone who many of us knew prior to this endeavor so seeing him make the transition from a guest of ours going on fun dives, to becoming one of the team as a PADI Professional guiding and leading dives was a true sense of pride for many of us.
Frequently each of these Divemasters in Training (DMT) would have the opportunity to assist and learn from all of our full-time instructors that make up our staff. We enjoy teaching people this way since everyone learns differently plus each of our PADI Instructors have their own unique style. All of them instill in our DMT's our dedication to safety, conservation, and teamwork.
At the end of their momentous achievements of becoming PADI Professional, they are each headed back to their respective homes to return to work, but they are great examples of how people decide to do their Divemaster for a variety of reasons. Silvia and Hanna are still considering pursuing work in the future as a Divemaster or possibly as an Open Water Scuba Instructor. For Danny, he primarily wanted to pursue the adventure and continue to advance his skills as a diver. Not to mention he received plenty of encouragement from all of the staff during his previous dive trips with us.
